My condolences to Carol, Janice and Debbie and your families in the passing of your beautiful mom Mary.  Though I haven't seen you probably since the 50's I would have recognized your mom from the picture displayed.  I remember looking forward to our visits to Calgary - your mom's cooking and playing with  Carol-Anne.
My thoughts are with you during this difficult time as I know how sad it was losing my mom and dad.
If any of you girls or your families are out in the White Rock, B.C. area my husband Svend and I would welcome a visit.

I grew up on 11 A street, across the way from Mrs. Langston, as she was and shall forever be known to myself and my family. She was such a fixture on our block, playing the role of mother to the entire neighborhood. I can remember watching Flames games in her living room, and building bike ramps in front of her house. She would bake cakes for all the kids, on their birthdays, and would bake money into the cakes. She will live in the hearts of all of us who knew and cherished her. She was one of a kind, and will be deeply missed.

We were very sorry to hear about Mary's passing.  She was beautiful inside and out with a giving spirit that could not be contained.  We will miss her thoughtfullness and energy.  Everyone on 11A street has lost a dear friend.

Our sincere sympathy to Mrs. Langston's family. We fondly remember the girls and their mom, and to this day I can still  picture all of them parallel parking, a perfect 10 everytime! 
A lot of fond memories from us too.  How time flies!! We too are old (?) neighbors from 11A at 226,  and I would like to say a special hello to the former residents of 231.

We met Mary in the early spring of 1973 when we began moving into the house at 231 11A St. We had just pulled up with our camper and Caroline, who was six months old, when Mary came across the street with her arms stretched out and said: â€œI'll take the baby and you can go about your work.â€
During our 17-plus years on the street, we learned that was what Mary did â€“ cared for the people there. She shared her Sunday dinners, made delicious chocolate cakes for us, gladly took in the children from school if we were late getting home from an appointment, and when Charles was born three months early, Mary was our rock.
I still have the tiny hooded blue and white sweater she knitted for him with matching rompers, as well as the sets she made for the girls.
Everyone should be fortunate enough to have someone like Mary in their lives. She's the kind of person who should go on forever.

Mary Langston was the ultimate good neighbor on a block filled with good neighbors.
I'll never think of 11A Street, jigsaw puzzles and roast beef with Yorkshire pudding without thinking of Mary too. We'll miss her.

To all of Mary's daughters and grandchildren and great grandchildren, siblings- We loved Aunt Mary too.  Mary took an interest in our lives and even though she had a large family around her in Calgary, she wrote us beautiful letters all the time and we visited on the phone. She was an encourager to our family. She kept us in the "loop" of all the Donald relatives.  She was an amazing woman and it is an honor to call her Aunt Mary.  God bless all of you. I was saddened to read of Mary's passing. I got to know her when she bowled for the Scandinavian Bowling League. She always had a smile, enjoyed a good joke and her laugh was infectious. She was a great lady and she will always be remembered by all whose lives she touch.

My family grew up across the street from Mrs. Langston, and she became a Grandmother to me.
I have so many fond memories of her; sandwhiches and  vegetable soup served on her card table to me and her granddaughter Kristiane, playing Barbies at her house, and sitting in her living room while my family watched our house sell across the street!
She played such a large part in my childhood. Every child should have someone they can trust and count on such as Mrs. Langston. She will be deeply missed. My sympathy goes out to her family, you are in my thoughts.

I was saddened to read of Mary's death. My mother was a resident of Forest Grove and she loved Mary's attention and spirit. It was a comfort to me to see how Mary could get my mom laughing or up and about. I really appreciated Mary's kindness
