Maurice loved sports, especially hockey and baseball. In his youth he excelled in baseball and played at an elite level and was a steadfast Montreal Canadiens fan throughout his life. Maurice was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and traveled extensively through Europe. He went on to become an air traffic controller and settled in Calgary. In 2002 he and his wife Valerie retired in High River where they enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren, golfing and burgers at the Hitching Post on Friday nights.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
To honour his wishes, no formal service will be held. Cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
Memorial donations in Maurice’s name will be gratefully accepted by STARS Air Ambulance.
