She will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Angie Ward; her three grandchildren, Lexi, David and Christopher (Laura) Ward; and two great grandchildren, Hayden and Carson; as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and George McBride. May was predeceased by her husband and soul mate of 53 years, Jim (2004), her parents, Alister and Margaret MacAlister and her brother Hector MacAlister.
May was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed volunteering with the Skimeisters, Chaparral School Reading Program, and Trout Unlimited Canada. In later years May became a highly talented artist and a travel adventurer. She enjoyed the last 10 years in her own cottage at Lake Bonavista Village, making many friends and joining in on regular outings and tours. She will be long and fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
The family wishes to give special thanks to the wonderfully caring and considerate staff at Unit 47 at the Rockyview General Hospital and at the Chinook Hospice.
A Memorial Service will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
