Agnes and I were saddened and in shock by the sudden loss of our one and only beloved and precious daughter Melissa Heng on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 4:30 a.m. She was 40 years old on October 1. She had succumbed to an undiagnosed illness that left all the medical specialists who attended to her the past three weeks mystified!

She is known by those who knew her especially too many of her friends to be a kind, compassionate, caring and helpful person. Watching sports was her greatest passion such as watching NHL Calgary Flames Hockey, Canadian Football League, Calgary Stampeders, Major League Baseball, Toronto Blue Jays and National Basketball League 2019 Champion, Toronto Raptors. Her happiest time I could remember was when she watched many of the mentioned sports with us on TV. Of course, those were the great days for us all, lots of laughter, happiness and celebrations. Our family pretty well enjoys all the sports, especially Melissa. She will always remain in our hearts forever.

She is survived by many uncles, aunties, grand-uncles and aunties, and lots of cousins.

Dearest Melissa,

I still can’t believe that you are no longer with us. I am incredibly thankful for our movie and dinner nights out. You were always interested in trying a new restaurant. We always ordered too much food and always had leftovers. We pretended to be food critics. I miss you more than words can say. Thank you for being a great friend.

Melissa has a gentle spirit, always calm and composed when I saw her. I remember meeting her in Grade 7 creative writing class in Langevin...how I admired her hair, always beautifully pinned together.
You're always in our hearts Melissa. I am grateful for the times we had sprinkled throughout the years....dinners and karaoke. Our memories together will always remain.

My deepest condolences and prayers are with her parents and relatives.

I will always remember how Melissa's eyes would lit up when we ordered cheesy fries at Denny's no matter how late it was. Or the times we shared singing karaoke together. Melissa will be missed . My deepest condolences to her family.

I think Melissa's greatest love is CHEESE! Her love of food was evident based on her Facebook posts. Melissa was a kind soul; you will be missed dearly. My condolences to your family during this difficult time.

Melissa was a gem. I was privileged to know her while she was at Trail Appliances. She sat next to me and was always so interested in me and my family and was such a great listener to all of my stories. My heart goes out to her family. She will be missed.

Melissa was a sweetheart. For the short time I knew her at Trail Appliances and Facebook, she was genuinely an especially nice person. Not only did she have a love for sports but a love of food. I will miss her and her posts. My heart goes out to her family in this time grief.
