Mildred Alice Martin

It is with deep sadness that we announce Mildred (Millie) Martin passed away on February 14, 2012 at the age of 74. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Lynda (Dave), son Brian, granddaughters Jessica, Lindsay, and Ashley, brother Eric (Anne) and sister Violet (Guy). Millie was predeceased by her husband Barry and her parents Gustav and Hilvey Augustine.

Millie was born in Dyment, Ontario. She spent her childhood in and around Dryden and then some time in Thunder Bay and Sault Ste Marie before spending most of her adult life in Calgary. Millie was most proud and enjoyed being a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. Millie was a very creative, proficient, caring, selfless, and special lady that valued life, family, friends, and was thankful for the many blessings in her life. Millie considered her children Lynda and Brian and her granddaughters to be the lights of her life.

A funeral service in Millie’s honour will be held at the South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South, Calgary (at Lake Fraser Gate) on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm.
