Weaver, Norah Catherine, our family matriarch, passed away in Lethbridge on March 13, 2020 at the age of 99 years. She was born in Port Dalhousie, Ontario. Norah is lovingly remembered by her children Douglas Bruce, Thohahènte, Dr. Blythe Catherine Shepard, and Keith Duncan, her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bruce (1991) and son Blair Ian (2012). Norah was small in stature but had the liveliness of the energizer bunny. She carpet-bowled at Nord-Bridge Seniors into her nineties. She was a sixty plus year member of the Association of Rebekah Assemblies and held prominent positions in the Assembly. Throughout her life she lived under the Rebekah Golden Rule, "Whatsoever ye would that others should do unto you, do ye even so unto them.” Mom loved nature, camping and travelling and would astound everyone with her knowledge of the local flora and fauna.
After Glow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
