Norman passed away at the Rocky View Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his two sons Raymond (Darlene) and David and grandsons Darren and Andrew. He was predeceased by his wife Josephine, age 80; as well as his son Douglas. Norman worked for the City of Calgary Streets and Roads department for 34 years, first, as a heavy equipment operator to maintain the roads. He took many calls during the winter to clear heavy snowfall. He then worked as a foreman for most of his career and finally as a trainer of new foremen. Norman built his own house in Renfrew and lived there his whole life. He enjoyed gardening and relaxing at his acreage near Water Valley on weekends. There, he built a house, log barn and loved to build a big campfire and sit around it at night telling stories of days past. The boys had a lot of fun out there. Norman suffered a stroke 6 years ago which left him partially paralyzed. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
