

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Norman Rohl of Calgary on Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at the age of 85 years. Dad was born on August 28th, 1932 in Keoma, Alberta to Mildred and George Rohl, who were homesteaders. Dad met Mom at a ranch in Capitol Hill in Northwest Calgary, where Dad took care of Mom’s horses, before & after school. Dad began his tenure in construction & soon became a well-respected superintendent for Poole Construction(P.C.L.). Some of his more notable projects were Gulf Canada Square, the Chinook Shopping Centre Expansion & the Whitehorse Dam & World’s Largest Fish Ladder in the Yukon. Besides his love of fishing, hunting, Hawaii & his loyal dedication to our Calgary Stampeders; Dad took pride in his family, pets, home & especially his cars. Dad is survived by son Reg(Donna Mae)Rohl, daughter Debbie(Mike) Raedts; Grand kids Vanessa(Danny)McNabb, David(Lucia)King, Laura King & Michael King; 7 amazing Great Grandkids & 2 sweet Great Great Grandsons. His brothers Pete(Marion)Rohl of Airdrie, Don Rohl of Kelowna & James(Lenora)Rohl of Penticton & their wonderful families. He was predeceased by our dear Mom Mary, his folks, Mildred & George Rohl, his infant sister Dorthea; brothers; Clarence, Monty & Frankie & sister-in-laws Judy, Betty, Marg & Esther; as well as nephew Bruce Rohl, nieces Mona Rohl, Cindy Wolfe; & great nephew Jonathan ‘the man’ Rohl of Airdrie. A service will be held at FOSTER”S GARDEN CHAPEL (3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary) on Saturday, January 20th, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
