Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Calgary, AB at the age of 92 years.
Pat was born in Halkirk, AB to John and Bertha (Kent) Jamieson. Pat graduated from Ponoka Hospital of Nursing in 1942 and Calgary General Hospital of Nursing in 1944. She set out on an adventure in 1946 with her friend, June, heading east with a goal of nursing their way to London, England. However, while working at the Welland General Hospital in Ontario, she met Loui D’Amico. They were married in 1949 and made a life for themselves raising their family in Welland. In 1974, they made their permanent home on the shores of Lake Erie, in Port Colborne, ON. Their home on the lake was their pride and joy. After her beloved husband of 52 years passed away, Pat returned to her roots in Calgary to be with two of her sons and their families. Pat was an active member of the Gyro Friendship Club for many years, as well as volunteering for Meals on Wheels both in Welland and Calgary. She loved to curl and was an avid gardener, winning prizes for her roses during the Welland Rose Festival. Pat is survived by her sons, John (Sherri), Ted (Gail), and Kevin (Carol). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lori, Jeff, Ryan (Ashley), Aaron, Adam (Alicia), Brittani and Jared as well as her sister, Jean Thornton. Pat is predeceased by her parents, John and Bertha Jamieson; husband, Loui, and sister, Cathryn Hamilton. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Kim Finvers and staff and the nurses at Santuari Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
