Patricia was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She worked as a secretary for the Calgary Catholic School Board and retired in 1994.
Patricia is survived by her husband Elmer Golec; children Michelle (Dean) Corney, David (Linda) Golec, Darren (Teressa) Golec and Dwayne (Jeannette) Golec; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings Edward “Buddy” Garagan, Robert (Carol) Garagan and Margaret “Peggy” Furman. She was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Edward Garagan and sisters Marie Fehr and Mary Louise Garagan.
