Paul was born near the city of Grudziadz in Poland on February 23, 1923. He was always proud to have served with the Allied Forces in Scotland through the Second World War, where he married Isabel in 1954. They immigrated to Canada in 1955 and eventually settled in Brentwood, Calgary, where Paul became a professional welder. Paul enjoyed a rich and full life and enjoyed two happy marriages. Every year near Remembrance Day he was proud to volunteer his time to the Poppy Fund and took part in the Remembrance Day ceremonies throughout Calgary. He will always be remembered by family and friends for his ever-present charm and humour.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Arleen Renz (Rob Walker); stepdaughter Beata (Reynaldo) Acosta; three grandchildren, Adrian (Kelsey) Kaspar, Gaelan Kaspar and Dana (Joe) Mutisya. He had three great grandchildren, Sloane, Stella and Alena and step-grandson Damian Szczebelski. Paul was predeceased by his first wife, Isabel Renz in 1989 and his son Raymond Renz in 1982. His second wife Genowefa Renz passed away in 2019 and his step-son Sylwester Rozycki of Poland in 2020.
Thank you to the amazing staff of the Normandy and Flanders wings of the Colonel Belcher, where he received excellent care in his final year of life. Thanks also to the devoted companions at All About Seniors who visited Paul regularly for more than five years.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
