Pearl Joan Williams

April 16, 1924 – September 7, 2025
Obituary of Pearl Joan Williams
IN THE CARE OF

South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium

It is with extreme sadness that we announce that Pearl Joan Williams (nee Lloyd) passed away peacefully on Sunday September 7th at the age of 101 years. Our Mom/Grandma will be lovingly remembered by all her five children, Charles, Carol (Bob), Rob (Sheila), Jim, and Corinne. She leaves us with countless Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great, Great Grandchildren.

Our Mom/Grandma was pre-deceased by her loving husband and our Dad/Grandad Robert Williams in September 2019 after 63 years of Marriage. She was also pre-deceased by six of her siblings in a family of eight children, as well as her Father Cyril Lloyd and Eileen Lloyd.

Pearl Joan’s parents were born in Wales, UK and then her Father, while an Officer of the British Kings Own Regiment was stationed in Northern Ireland where she was born. At the age of three, she, along with her family immigrated to Canada via ship. Upon arriving in Canada, they made their way to Alberta where her parents had purchased land east of Red Deer, Alberta. When the 1930’s hit with a world-wide recession, they were forced to leave their farm and made their way to Calgary.

Her Mom died at only 50 years old, and Pearl Joan had made a promise to take care of her much younger little Sister Diane, while their father worked hard to provide for his eight children.

In the early decade of the 50’s, she met and eventually married our Dad/Grandad and raised her children in Calgary. Devoting her entire life to her children, she gave them everything she and Dad/Grandad could. Amazing Christmas memories with presents spread across the “rumpus room”, road trips in the summers to BC, and trips to Hawaii.

Once an agreed date has been determined, a gravesite service will be held at Queens Park Cemetery in Calgary.
