Randall "Randy" Leonard Dean Hill

Randall Leonard Dean Hill "Randy" passed away peacefully at the Rockyview General Hospital on May 23, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by family and friends. Randy was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on July 27, 1941.

Randy will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Janice (Greg), his best friend Jeanette and her extended family, his grandchildren Marisa (Stella), Christopher, Kevin, Jacen and Camron, his sister Marilyn (Neil) and his nieces Catherine, Jennifer, Meghan and Sarah with their families, as well as his good friends Peter and Grace.

Randy was predeceased by his wife Donalda, son Garry, his father Rev Canon L.R. Hill and his mother Frances.

Randy was a deeply kind, loving, and humorous person who found true joy in making people laugh. He loved visiting with everyone he met, and held a special place in his heart for children.

A talented drummer and vocalist, he shared his love of music – especially old-time tunes and country – with numerous bands. He was a proud Royal Canadian Legion member, frequently taking the stage there to play for local dances. Bringer of joy in many forms, he also loved stepping into the role of Santa Claus every Christmas.

The family would like to thank Dr. Calder and the staff at the Rockyview general Hospital – Unit 82 for the compassionate care they provided to Randy.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church (1525 – 45 Street SE, Calgary), on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 1:30 pm. A graveside service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1515 – 100 Street SE, Calgary). A reception will be held after the interment in the hall of Holy Trinity Church (1525 – 45 Street SE, Calgary) for anyone wishing to join the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Randy’s name.
