It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Randy Stokley, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Randy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Kim, his son, Justin, and his daughter Elyse. He will also be sadly missed by his mother, Bev, his father, Ron, sisters, Joan (George Buckley), Tracey (Mike Jolley), as well as many nieces and nephews. Randy was predeceased by his brother Wayne Stokley.
Randy was born in London, Ontario on March 13, 1953. He was passionate about many sports and athletics. Although he excelled in many pursuits, he always remained humble, a quality he passed on to others throughout his career as a teacher, and especially as a father and coach to his children. Randy’s teaching career brought him to Calgary in the 1980’s, and his passion for the outdoors was ignited. Randy will always be remembered as a caring, loving, compassionate, modest, and gentle man. He will live on in others through his influence, inspirations, and knowledge, that he so genuinely shared.
A memorial will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 4th Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, January 8th at 2:00pm with the Pastor Wayne Lewry officiating. Reception will follow at Foster’s Garden Chapels Fireside Lounge.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Expressions of sympathy and remembrance may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
