He was born on August 19, 1926 to Ephraim and Alice Barnes in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Reg married Shirley Anne Campbell in Calgary and they had four children: Robert (Bob), Jo-Ann, Douglas and Duncan. He worked as a fireman switching from coal to diesel on CPR locomotives. He became an accomplished floral designer and retired from David L. Jones Wholesale after quadruple heart bypass surgery. Reg loved to sing and won several singing certificates.
Reg is survived by his sons Bob (Lorna), Doug and Duncan; his daughter Jo-Ann; granddaughters Amie and Erin (Preston); grandsons Michael and Justin; great granddaughter Sofia; and his favourite niece Lynne Sterling (Glenn). He was pre-deceased by his wife Shirley; his sister Grace Watkins; and brother-in-law Barney Watkins.
At Reg’s request, there will be no Funeral or Memorial services. Reg’s urn will be interred at Queen’s Park Cemetery, 3219 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta, at a later date.
