He was appreciated and praised for his dedication and quality of work in the construction industry for over 40 years.
Doug was best known for his love and passion for sports, food (especially BQ steaks), loud music and endless hours of playing the piano and entertaining others. He also loved to hop in his truck with his beloved dogs and drop in on friends and family for a visit, or take leisurely drives and walks in nature and be surrounded by all its beauty.
He was a kind hearted, gentle and sensitive soul, with a wicked sense of humor and a smile that would melt your heart. Extremely generous and always concerned about the welfare of others, at the detriment of his own, he touched everyone he met in a special way. You will be dearly missed! Until we meet again.
Left to mourn his loss are sisters, Patti Kjeldson (Rick), Karen Kjeldson (David), Debi Voigt (Scott) and their families Kristen Voigt (Jon), Mark Long, Rachel Long, along with friends, neighbors and Angela’s special children Sara, Amber, Megan and Josh and their families, who brought him joy and happiness on some of his toughest days.
We wish you love and peace as you join our parents, Margaret (2015) and Bob (2017),
lifelong partner, Mavis (2018), dear friend Angela (2019), along with countless friends, relatives and beloved dogs on the other side.
A private celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later time.
A special thank you to all the staff at Foothills Hospital (SSB Unit 37) for all their care, support and friendships during Doug’s long and courageous battle.
