Rose Ella Begus

Rose Ella Begus passed away on the 1st of November, 2010 at the age of seventy years. Rose is survived by her children Richard (Demetra) Begus and Barry Begus (Liz); four grandchildren Gina, Christina and Daniel Begus and Michael Sali; great grandchild Kaiden Snyder; sister Alma DeBoer (Gary); brother Bill Hoff (Betty); mother Edna Hoff; mother-in-law Phyllis Kittlitz; several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers in law, cousins and a dear friend Veronica Kearle (James) and children. She was predeceased by her husband Gene, daughter Sherry Sali, baby Fay and father Dan Hoff. Rose was born and raised in the Medicine Hat area, moving to Calgary in 1957. She often assisted her husband Gene with his safety work, traveling at times in Canada and the USA to teach First Aid, Defensive Driving and other courses. Rose traveled with Gene to North Africa where she lived for 3 1/2 years. In her later years, Rose assisted in the production of extensive safety manuals for several companies. She also spent thirteen years working for Ben Moss Jewellers in Calgary. Her love and delight were her children, extended family and friends. Rose was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by those who knew her. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00a.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
