Sean understood the beauty of life, love and nature.
I met him on RedBubble and became an instant admirer of his beautiful work.
It spoke volumes about the man. His respect and love of nature, of humanity. This will live on alongside his beautiful family.

Sean was such a special and loving soul.  I saw his  awesome photography on Redbubble, and talked with him over the years, he and his family have been in our prayers, and he is sorely missed.  He always stayed positive and was an inspiration to all of us fortunate enough to see his world.  God bless.

Although I only knew Sean from our online photography sites there was something very special about him.  He was genuine, kind and caring and had a deep love of family and nature.  I am so saddened by his passing...my heart goes out to his loved ones.

I knew Sean through RB and had an opportunity to meet him in person. We had a photo session in Kananaskis Country with a group of friends from RB. He was such a gentle soul, always kind and positive. He was fighting this terrible illness to the very end.
I sent him a b/mail few weeks ago and didn't get a response. It was very unusual for Sean not to answer. I knew then he must be very sick so I waited and hoped he will get through hard time like he did many times before. I'm very sad that this time he didn't.
Rest in peace dear friend. We will miss you but I will say this:

I won't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before we can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.

I am deeply saddened by hearing the news of Sean's passing. While I never actually met him, I feel that I knew him from the years spent enjoying his work and communicating with him on RedBubble. He was a friend and mentor to so many of us and touched all of us around the world by sharing how he viewed the world through his eyes and camera! I will keep his family and friends in my thoughts and prayers and there is some comfort in knowing that Sean is no longer in any pain. Rest in peace, my friend!!! Goodbye my Friend. I will miss you. The fact that I will never see another of your amazing photographs is very sad for me. Your beautiful daughters never knew many of us but we knew them from your photos of them. In a way they grew up with us through you.

I'm so terribly sad to hear of Sean's passing. There was a part of me that did not believe it would happen. He taught me so much and I will miss his kind words. And him... always.

I am so saddened at the loss of my good friend and fellow photographer. He was such a special person and I will keep his family in my prayers.

Sean is a dear friend I met on Redbubble, a man whose positive comments and great sense of humor added so much to my life and the lives of many others.  He fought so bravely and never gave up hope all through his illness.  Yet I believe that right now he is in the glorious presence of Jesus, overjoyed at the beauty and peace of his new environment.  We'll miss him so much, but know we'll see him again.

The selfish sorrow of a loved one passing, the joy of having known someone so special. The relief of knowledge that the battle is over and the comfort of knowing the pain is gone. God couldn't wait any longer to have Sean's beautiful spirit in heaven to dance and sing with the angels. He is finally at peace.

I have had the honour of being firends with Sean for many many years. 
Even before Redbubble came into existance.
 
Although we lived a 1000 miles apart, we had the opportunity to know each other well. We exchanged emails, talked on the phone and online, and I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Sean in person on two outstanding occasions. I took this picture of Sean the last time I saw him. We spent a wonderful day together, just the two of us, touring around, talking, taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful surroundings and finished it off with a lovely dinner. It was a day I have remembered fondly ever since.

I know you are reading this from heaven. Just one of my little notes to say Hi and how are you. This time I know your answer is free of pain and suffering. I just wanted to let you know that I think of you often and you have been in my prayers daily for years. Let your spirit soar my dear friend, you are free at last.
 
I so enjoyed our letters, chats, and meetings. I loved hearing your stories about your wonderful daughters that you love so dearly. Your stories about your travels abroad, your love for photography and nature and all living things. Your gentle and beautiful spirit shines through your art and has touched so many.
 
You fought a good battle, never giving up. Your strength of spirit more than made up for the lack of physical strength. You will be sorely missed. My selfish side is full of sorrow that I now must wait a while to see my dear friend again, but my heart is also joyful that you are at peace now. You have won your battle and now have freedom without pain to savour the glory and beauty of heaven above. I can't wait to see what you capture now! Save a place for me!  I knew Sean for the past 4 or so years since I joined Redbubble.  He was one of my finest friends and group members and always had a kind word to say on my photos.  He teased to much about how I photoshopped in the blue skies when his photos had a rainy day look and why did the sun shine for me and not him.  He called me a copy cat and I called him a brat and he said I stole his photos because we took photos of the same places in the Rocky Mountains.  We shared Mount Lorette Ponds in Kananaskis as our secret place and argued that he did not share my birthday, but he really did, June 9.  Sean my dear friend, the sun will always shine for you now, Mount Lorette Pondswill always be your secret place and I will forever remember you when I go back there, which I did this past July.  We were lucky enough to enjoy the same places and so many of our photos are alike I'm sure they are like duplicates which of course they were not. 
Bless the family including his beautiful twin daughters whom he loved and talked about so often and how he loved to have visits with them.  And to his mom and dad for helping him through his trying times with this dreadful virus, he was a beautiful young man and we were proud to know him. I know he had a cat that he adored and it will miss him too.

I have many fond memories of Sean and the Jansen Family growing up in Calgary. Sean was a great school friend who always looked after his mates. I still tell stories of the time Sean came to visit me in New Zealand. We played pool against the locals in remote tavern in the Bay of Islands. It seemed we couldn't loose, and found ourselves leaving the pub after dark, rushing to catch the last ferry back to the mainland. The locals were not very unhappy, having supplied us with several beverages that day and evening.

Sean was such a caring individual.

I've been privileged to "know" Sean for several years.  I'm sure those who've never had "online" friends may wonder, but those of us who were blessed to know Sean ... know his kindness and his always encouraging words and his incredibly magic photographic work ... "knew" him.  What an amazing artist he was with his camera ... he took us to places that many of us will never see with our own eyes ... but through his artistry, we felt as if we were standing right beside him.  Sean ... I'm so so sorry ... we'll miss you so much.  I only wish I could stand with your loved ones at your memorial and say a last goodbye.  Bless you ... bless your family.

Sean was one of those people who come into our lives and seem to have always been there. Not just as an RB friend, but one whom we met in person and shared brief but so enjoyable experiences. Jann and I especially treasure memories of Sean helping us get from Calgary to the RB meet in Waterton in 2010, cruising on Waterton Lake together, and enjoying the warmth of his personality and friendship. Always helpful, sincere, honest and a friend we hoped would recover from his terrible ordeal and be back again roaming the mountains with his camera. Our sincere sympathy to his family and all who knew him. He will be truly missed.

I did not know Sean in person, only through an artist community website.  However, I truly feel like I have lost a close friend.  I followed Sean's beautiful photography online at Redbubble and we exchanged short conversations now and then. From the beginning he came across as a very warm, caring person - more interested in offering support than in whether anyone liked his work or not.  I can't imagine the vacuum his passing has created in the lives of his family and friends.  My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved him as the incredible human being he was.
