Shu Fun was born on June 13, 1937 in Hoi Ping, China and immigrated in 1963 to Saskatchewan. He married on April 8, 1970 and settled in Calgary with his family where he was a restauranteur for a few years and worked at the Calgary School Board as a caretaker for 25 years before retiring in 2002.
Shu Fun was also known as “Jim” or “Jimmie” and enjoyed walking, gardening, fishing and going to the horse races at Stampede Park when they were still there.
Shu Fun is survived by his loving wife, Theresa and loving remembered by daughter, Winnie and son-in-law, Ed, by son, Jamie and daughter-in-law, Peggy, grandchildren, Jasmine, Jaxon and Jolie, by sister Choi Sin Ma and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 AM
