Sophie was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1949. Not only was she a great homemaker, she also spent her years working in the food service industry. Always taking pride in her work. Sophie was predeceased by her husband John of sixty-six years. She is survived by her daughters, Irene (Dennis) Maillot and Lucia (Robin) Edmond; six grandchildren, Dean (Christina) Maillot, Kelly (Tamara Maillot Delong) Maillot, Darren (Heather Donauer) Maillot, Carey (Devon) Maillot, Jody (Dan) Metcalfe, Jess (Dan) Gregory and seven great-grandchildren. We would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Woo and the staff in unit 71 (Cardiology) at the Rockyview General Hospital. After a fulfilling 90 years of life, Babcia is now free to fly with Angels. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, AB (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation one hour prior to service.
