Sunny was born in Hong Kong on August 29, 1953, he was the second child and second eldest brother among seven siblings. At the age of 19, he met the love of his life, Queeny, and after two wonderful years, they were married. Sunny welcomed his first child, Phoebe, at the age of 22 and his second child, Evelyn, at the age of 26.
Having lost both parents at the age of 17, Sunny took on the responsibility of working as a butcher in his aunt's meat shop. Together with Queeny, he faced the challenges of building a family during a recession and a tough economic environment in Hong Kong, working tirelessly for nearly 17 hours a day. After years of hard work, they seized the opportunity to purchase their first apartment in 1976 and their first taxi in 1979. In 1990, they ventured into the real estate business.
At the age of 41 in 1994, Sunny embarked on a new journey in Canada with his family. With the help of friends, he secured a job at Days Inn as a waiter. Sunny, an avid walker, frequently invited his siblings to join him on walks. In his leisure time, he also found joy in playing Mahjong, a traditional Chinese tile-based game, with friends. Those close to him knew Sunny as an independent, diligent, and energetic individual. Known as a gentle husband, compassionate brother, excellent father, and amiable grandfather, Sunny prioritized his love for his wife and family above all else. He considered himself incredibly fortunate to witness the marriages of both Phoebe and Evelyn to talented and intelligent men and was delighted to embrace the role of a grandfather.
Sunny is lovingly remembered by his wife, Queeny; daughters, Phoebe and Evelyn; sons-in-law, Robert and Jerry; and grandchildren, Matthew and Kristy.
