Dear Drex, Leyla, and Family,

We are not sure what we were doing in early August 2011, but we missed the terrible, tragic news of Tyler's car accident. When we read the Herald announcements this Saturday morning, we were both shocked and dumbstruck!

We are so very sad to know that you have lost Tyler and wanted to let you know that we have been thinking about you.

We hope you are each finding your way through this first year and find strength in each. We only met young Kyle a few times and were struck by his strong physical similarities with Tyler. No doubt Kyle will keep your memories of Tyler alive.

Take care of your selves, and each other,

Linda and Allan

To the Hargreaves family,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. I was shocked and so saddened to hear the news of his passing.

I have such great memories of Tyler as a fellow hockey player and as a friend at Simon Fraser and SWC. He was kind-hearted, artistic and very bright. I wish I had kept in touch with him over the years as I can see how he continued to touch the lives of so many. I wish you peace and may all the wonderful memories you have of him bring your family continued strength and happiness.

With love from next door...a person could write volumes of great things about Tyler. What will always stand out the most for us is how he was so able to stay composed, together, and strong with a smile on his face through the toughest of times. He was a person who made you feel good about yourself even from a quick conversation. His caring for others knew no bounds, even when he had his own worries, he always put others first. Pierre and I were 10 and 20 years his senior when he passed, and we've discussed that he was far more mature and adjusted...and we find ourselves thinking of his strength when we're faced with adversity.....take a deep breath and think "what would Tyler do?"

I went to school with Tyler from a young age, through high school. I remember Chris Mackenzie and Pat Corran well. I only realized Tyler passed away today. To Tyler's family, I am so sorry for your loss. Tyler was a great person and had much to accomplish in this world. You will be in my prayers.

I knew Tyler as a student at the university of Calgary, I was not in his year, but he stood out through his active involvement, a real leader, a tragic loss to his friends and family but also our community and all the good he had to accomplish in the world.

I taught with Tyler in Japan. He was the life and soul of everything. When he left Japan our group of friends were all emotional an trying not to cry and he said : "Get outta here guys, your gonna make me cry. Its embarrasing!" And just like that we all laughed..
I only found out today and my deepest sympathies are with his parents, Leylah and his children. I went to Canada in July and emailed him hoping we could meet up. We didn't meet up an I so wish we had. All i can do is pray he is in a better place and inshallah he is at peace. RIP brother, i've got about a million stories I could tell all ending up in tears of laughter. Peace XXX
