It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother at Calgary, Alberta at the age of 77 years.
Louise was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. During her teaching career in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, she obtained B.Ed. and M.Ed. degrees and received numerous awards for her service, including the 1995 Educator of the Year Award presented by Phi Delta Kappa. She retired as a school principal. Louise was happiest spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons Rodney and Stewart and Stewart’s wife Cathy. The lights of her life were her grandchildren Marin, Cole and Aidan. She was predeceased by her mother Lelia Verna Mae (Verna) Evans (nee Greenslade) and her father James Edward Evans. She is also survived by her sister Margaret Evans (Bill) and her three nieces Lynn, Marla and Pam and numerous grand-nieces.
A Memorial Service open to all will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Calgary Board of Education or the charity of the donor’s choice.
