It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and uncle. Wayne passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the age of 70 years.

After graduating from Henry Wise Wood High School, he studied at the University of Calgary and obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a petroleum engineer for various oil companies throughout his career and retired from GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd. after 24 years with the company. He liked to golf and loved to cook and he enjoyed travelling to all parts of the world throughout the years and especially enjoyed going on cruises.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Mee Ying (Ming); daughter Stephanie and her husband Scott Hillis; sisters Jean and Jennifer; brothers Christopher (Bonnie), Stuart (Sheila), Dewayne (Gloria) and Dean; nephews Ryan and Nicholas (Kim); and niece Amanda. Dear Ming and family,
I worked in Wayne's group at GLJ Petroleum Consultants. Wayne was intelligent, kind, hard-working, easy to talk to and easy to work with. Working with him and the rest of our group changed my opinion of engineers! He created a positive team environment and I am grateful for the experience of having worked with him. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I have known Wayne for some 50 plus years; since our university years. Back in the day we were a little more athletic and we hiked, played tennis and cycled together. Later, for many, many years a small group of university friends played cards together once a month. We played for pennies, told jokes and just shared camaraderie. I missed those fun times.
I always marvelled at Wayne's astuteness in the world of finance and meet him often at seminars related to investing in the stock market. I'm sure he and Ming have done well.
Wayne, I am happy that you enjoyed your life, successful in career and business, have a great family, travelled, and have good friends.
We will miss you, buddy!

I was shocked and saddened by the passing of Wayne. I worked with Wayne through his entire career at GLJ Petroleum Consultants and he was one of the favorites. Always on point and always considerate of other employees time. Wayne, you will be missed and remembered.

Our deepest condolences to you and your family, Ming.
We have many fond memories of our times with Wayne during high school and university. Our car pool wouldn't have been the same without him eating breakfast and finishing dressing in the back seat. He was always in good humour and willing to partake in any of our "activities", but did things his own way. His two handed Chow Chop in volleyball has never been duplicated.
Though we haven't gotten together as often as we should have over the years, it was always easy to slide back into that easy conversation when we did. A sad loss for us all.
