Wendell Lee Roffey

Lee "Sandy" Roffey passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Bow-Crest Care Centre in Calgary, AB. He leaves behind his daughter, Linda Jensen; his son Brian and his wife Susie Roffey; and his sister June Cox. Lee and his wife, Phyllis, were happily married for 53 years. He was born in Entwistle, AB, the son of James and Juanita Roffey (nee Hale). As a young man he worked alongside his father at a lumber mill. Lee joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1948 where he attained the rank of Warrant Officer. Lee served in the Korean War and in Germany, as well as a peacekeeper in Cyprus. He retired from the armed forces in 1972. His second career was with the Calgary Board of Education until he retired. The family wishes to extend many thanks to the wonderful staff at Bow-Crest who took such great care of him. A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4th Street NW, Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.; with interment to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens, 24223 Township Road 242, Calgary.
