William John (Bill) Sawatzky

Bill passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Bill was born on February 7, 1922 in Saskatoon, SK to Anna and Abraham.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marion; daughter Barbara (Jim) Olsen; son David and grandchildren Shane and Erica Olsen. Bill grew up in Morris, MB with one sister and four brothers, who predeceased him. He joined the Navy and served honourably during WWII. He married Marion Marie Schuweiler on November 10, 1954 in Swan River, MB. Bill worked with Canada Manpower, retiring after 28 years. His main loves in life were his family, long leisurely walks and his extensive collection of books and recorded music.

A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Thank you to the staff at Colonel Belcher.
