William Morris Sherman

It is with deep and heavy sadness that we announce the passing of our dear “Dad, grandfather and friend”, William “Bill” Morris Sherman of Calgary, AB. Bill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the age of 88 years at his place of residence.

Bill was born in Youngstown, AB on July 11, 1928. Bill lived most of his life in Calgary where he met and married his wife, Ida “Mickey” Marie Schnell. Bill and Mickey had three children, Perry, Eric and Diane.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Mickey in 1973, his remains will be laid to rest with her at Queen’s Park Cemetery in Calgary, AB. Bill was also predeceased by his son Perry in 2006, his twin sister Isabel, his eldest sister Marion, and his best friend and companion Muriel Henderson. Bill is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his son Eric (Ange); his daughter Diane (Pierre); and his daughter-in-law Joan. His grandchildren, Evan, Blaine, Nickey, Erin, Jesse and Dana. Bill was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Lexi and Emily. Bill is also survived by his youngest brother, Calvin (Janice).

At Bill’s request, there will be no funeral, a small family gathering will take place.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in William’s memory directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, (PO Box 26331 STN BRM B, Toronto, ON M7Y 4R1).
