Wilma was born in Armada, AB to Horace and Emma Bennett. She lived on the homestead in the Lomond area until moving to Edmonton at 16 where she worked in a sewing factory for GWG. She then met Allan Taylor and they married July 17, 1947. They moved up to Yellowknife for a few years where Wilma worked as a waitress. They returned to Edmonton and she lived there until 1984, then moving to Calgary at the time of her granddaughter’s birth.
Wilma is survived by her only daughter Judy Crozier (Garry Bettcher), only granddaughter Paula Crozier and sisters Delia Wuth and Mildred Schieman. She is predeceased by her husband Allan Taylor (1975), her sisters Mary Langille (2002), Margaret Pledger (2006) and Florence DiMatteo (2014).
Wilma was a loyal friend and an amazing, loving mother and grandmother; reminding us to take joy in the simplicity of life. She was strong-willed until the end and will be remembered for her sweet, feisty spirit and fun-loving nature.
A Celebration of Life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
