

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Wilson James Pankrat, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Wilson is survived by his wife Rachel Lapointe, his stepsons Dan Demchuk, Jordan Demchuk (Pam Nociar) and granddaughter Sophia; siblings Ric (Deb) Pankrat, Kathy (John) Tidlund, Sarah (Jim) Randell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilson retired in 2019 having worked as a machinist for over 40 years, a role he thoroughly enjoyed. Playing pool and on occasion snooker was his passion, which he excelled at. He participated in many pool leagues and tournaments in Calgary, the last 5 years as a valued member of the pool league at Barley's Pub in Carstairs, where many friendships were formed. Designing, crafting, and engraving on metal and wood mediums was his hobby. He loved making plaques, clocks, signs, wedding mementos, baby announcements, luggage tags, etc. and giving them as gifts.
Those who knew Wilson will remember him as a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a kind and generous friend.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Kim Pankrat, son Tyler James Pankrat and infant son Mathew David Pankrat, his parents, Henry (Pat) Pankrat and brother Michael Pankrat.
A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
