I am sorry to learn of Nonie's passing.  I have known her through Girl Guides for over 30 years and was always impressed with her passion for Guiding and Scouting values, her positive attitude (a Guide smiles and sings under difficulty) and her indomitable spirit.  I always appreciated her support in my various Commissioner roles.  She has 'gone home' and will be missed.

My heartfelt sympathies to Nonie's family, she will be missed. I first met Nonie when she lived on 26 Ave SW, she would stop by my office for a chat I soon found out we were both members of Guiding. Our paths crossed many times over the ensuing years always a good chat and a smile. Nonie was dedicated to what she believed in and supported. Cherish all your wonderful memories of a great lady.

To the Zelmer family.  My deepest sympathies go to you all, particularly Aaron.  My late husband, Allen, worked with Nonie through Air Cadets when Aaron was a cadet in his squadron.  We laughed about Nonie's strict rules regarding joining the "Native Calgarians" group.  We were a few years shy, but nevertheless, Native.  However, until we reached 50 we couldn't join. There was a lot of good natured ribbing of her at that time.  I also had Nonie emcee a fashion show for the Air Force Association during a convention here.  She was a driving force behind so many projects.  Her vitality and skills of organization were remarkable.  Your family has lost a very valued and cherished member and the rest of society a very dear friend. Enjoy the good memories, I am sure you have many.  Bev Spielman.

I was eight years old, fifty-seven years ago when Mrs. Zelmer was my beloved Brownie leader. She made the best campfire stew. She taught me many useful life skills, how to cooperate with others,to persevere and work toward a goal. 
You already know what a wonderful mother and grandmother you had but I want you to know that she had a lasting impact on a whole generation of children born at the end of World War Two. She is not forgotten.

Lynn, Karan, Helene and Aaron, Your mother was a best friend of our family for over 50 years. I recall many events dating back to our teen years. Our sincere condolences are sent  to you at this sad moment in your lives.
We last saw Nonie at our mother's service after passing away 24 Apr 2008 at age 89

We were vary sorry to learn of Nonie's passing she contributed so much to her community. A devoted  Guides and Scouts leader for decades. She will be missed by all of us who had the privilege of knowing her and her unfailing dedication to her family and community. We extend our sincere sympathy's to all her family at this time of loss

Nonie lived a long and fruitful life and will be missed by many.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you celebrate her life.
