

Yerkovs immigrated to Calgary, Alberta with his family from Chile on November 28, 1975. During his lifetime, he enjoyed playing hockey, and soccer and was passionate about his studies in music. He spent many years playing the piano and accordion at the Royal Conservatory of Music where he received his training and participated in various musical competitions. In one such competition, he placed second for his musical ensemble performance of ‘Over the Waves’ a Waltz by Juventino Rosas.
As he grew, Yerkovs demonstrated great talent in not only music, but in other artistic mediums such as poetry, photography, drawing and more. These talents were prevalent across his lifetime and remained present throughout his career and hobbies. Yerkovs demonstrated unquenched curiosity for life and the experiences it could offer. Yerkovs always had adventures to share and it was never without comedic commentary. At his core, Yerkovs was a person with vast emotions, which made him passionate about topics close to his heart, as well as a person with immense kindness and generosity for those he loved and held dearly.
Yerkovs is survived by his son Taeo, his mother Patricia, his father Cesar, his common-law-wife Basia, his siblings, Dimirkovs and Carolina, his niece Maria-Elena. Additionally, Yerkovs is eternally remembered by his aunt and uncle, Marcela & Genaro, as well as his cousins whom he grew up with and finally, his friends whom he shared many important milestones and fond memories with stemming from early childhood all the way to adulthood.

A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace.
