Yvonne Morcos Rizkalla

She graduated with a social work degree in 1956, and in Fayyum, Egypt met and married the love of her life soon after in 1958. She and Fikry were wonderful parents to two sons who will always be grateful for having them in their lives.

In 1969, Yvonne immigrated with her family to Canada, settling in Edmonton where Mom & Dad built a warm inviting home full of good food and wonderful loving company, a place where their family, now including two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren, loved to gather and enjoy their time together. They had successful careers, Mom in Social Work, Dad in Civil Engineering, and finally retired in the late 1990’s.

After the passing of Dad in 2013, we were fortunate to have Mom join us in Calgary, where she settled here in her comfortable apartment at the Manor Village in November 2017… one of its first residents. For over seven years we were blessed to have Mom here in Calgary with us. Every day with her was a gift. In September 2024, we were so pleased to celebrate her 90th birthday.

We will always be grateful for our time with her, to the staff here at the Manor Village, and to the staff at the Dulcina Hospice, where she passed peacefully in the late hours of Friday, June 6, 2025.

A Funeral Service will be held at Foster's Garden Chapel 3220 - 4 Street N.W. Calgary, Alberta on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. A private interment service will follow at a later date.
