

He left behind his wife of 63 years, Grace; his daughter Deb Van Damme (Frank) of Cambridge, his son Tim McEwen (Shannon) of Petawawa, his grandchildren Cory Van Damme, Krystina Van Damme, Tim McEwen, Thomas McEwen, great grandchildren Kim, Raven, Damien, Dante and Morgan, brothers Ron (Bonnie), Howard (Kathy) and sister Merna. Loving memories are left with his in laws Herman and Donna Van Rossum, Margaret and Dennis Moran, Jerry and Cynthia Van Rossum, Tilly and Richard Blazewidz, and many nieces and nephews.
Al worked at Babcock and Wilcox for 45 years, retiring at the age of 65He loved model railroading along with his friends Mike and Jack. Al was Drum Corps nut. He marched in the original Preston Scout House Band, The Guelph Royalairs, and much later in the Scout House Alumni Band, a love that he passed along to his children as he was involved with the St. Andrew's Drum and Bugle Corps, Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps as business manager along with Jack Turner.
Private cremation has taken place. Family and friends are asked t please join Al's Family at the family home on Saturday, October 25th, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm to give him his final train ride home. We Miss You.
