A very generous and giving person. She and her husband Harry were very positive and selfless people. Met them both in 1950’s. Had a positive impact on my life. Rest In Peace  Ayako.

We just learned of Aya's passing and want to extend our sympathy to you and your family. 
As neighbours, over many years, we seemed to cross paths with Aya all the time. She was usually on foot and at full speed, but she always had time to stop and chat.  She was a proud mom and grandma and had lots of stories about your family.
Aya was a lovely person and we will miss her very much.

Dear Gary, Liz and Family;

Our deepest sympathies to you on the loss of Aya. We have many cherished memories of spending Japanese New Year celebrations with Aya and Harry and your family over the years. Aya was a great steadfast lifetime friend and neighbour to my mother and father. I especially cherish her positive outlook and creativity which she applied to every action and deed that she undertook. 

She will be very much missed by our family.

My deepest sympathy to Gary and the entire Kondo family on the loss of such a wonderful woman. I have many found memories of growing up next door to the Kondos,; of Gary, Harry, Grandma, and of course Aya. You were all like an extension of my own family because we saw each other almost every day. Aya was one of the kindest and most generous persons I have known, and her passing is a loss to us all.

I will miss Aya.  She was so full of spunk and a kindred spirit.  Aya sat in front of us at church when we first started and got me involved in different lunches.  Aya was a brilliant baker and I was lucky enough to learn some pastry skills from her.  I loved to hear her tell about her days as a seamstress.  What a sweetheart.

Al and I will always remember the delicious New Year's celebrations that we were fortunate enough to be invited to. Your Mom was always so warm and inviting. I loved her laughter. We feel very privileged to have known this wonderful lady. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Jackie and I are very sorry for your loss. I remember the many visits to your Mom & Dad's home Gary, while we attended High School, especially the special gatherings at Christmas and New Year's with all the snacks. Jackie remembers your Mom's help in fitting her wedding dress. Your Mom had a great laugh and always was interested in hearing about our adventures. Aya was a kind and gentle lady. Our knotting group at Trillium Church will miss her smiling face. She was loved by all. I will treasure the time that I was privileged to call her my friend.
