

He leaves behind his son Richard Gardiner. Darryl will be remembered by his sisters Maryanne Labelle, Christine Woodley, and Linda Woodley.
He is survived by his nieces Samantha Woodley, Jennifer McNeish, Theresa McNeish, Darylynn Litchfield, Teresa (Shawn) Ozon, and by his nephews Dustin Lawlor, Ryan Lawlor, Chad McColm, Craig Leaver, and Don Leaver. Darryl is also fondly remembered by his great-nieces and great-nephews Donovan, Dylan, and Dustin McNeish, Ethan, Rylee, and Quinton Ozon, as well as Chloe and Santana Litchfield.
Darryl is now reunited with his brother Scott Woodley, and his nephew James Lawlor.
Darryl was spirited and opinionated, with a bold personality that left a lasting impression. He found joy in heavy metal music, riding motorcycles, fixing cars, and spending time outdoors while fishing and camping. Darryl faced many challenges during his life, but his story was uniquely his own – shaped by a fiercely independent spirit and a determination to live life his own way, for better or for worse. He will be remembered with love for the path he chose to walk on his own terms.
Darryl’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather for visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM, followed by a service in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, 750 Fountain Street North.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, a cause that Darryl held close to his heart.
