With great sadness my daughters, Marianne (Douglas) Greb, Sharon (Ernie) Muzylowsky and son Ron Rafferty want to announce the passing of their dad on May 13, 2012 at the age of 94. He was proud to have volunteered and served overseas for 5 years 1940-1945 with the Cape Breton Highlanders. His unit saw action in North Africa and the invasions of Sicily and Italy. During the liberation of Holland he met his future bride, Cornelia and they have been together for 66 years. Dearly missing their grandpa are Danielle (Steve) Anderson and Ryan (Vanessa) Baker. Cremation has taken place and a private family Memorial will follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to THE BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME.
