Heaven gained a New Year’s angel when our beloved Gary Wheeler suddenly passed away on January 1st, 2018 at the age of 72. Gary is survived by his brother, Roy Wheeler of Newfoundland, sister Thelma Powell of Cambridge, children; Christy Waring of England, Jimmy and Cory Wheeler of Newfoundland, Lisa Wheeler of Waterloo and Christina and Desiree Wheeler of Cambridge. He also leaves behind his 8 grandchildren, an aunt, an uncle, nieces, a nephew and cousins. Gary is predeceased by his adopted parents, Ellison and Florence (Hilda) Wheeler, sister-in-law Coline, and brother-in-law Abby. The family will receive friends at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (519-653-3251) on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 1pm-2pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with cremation to follow. Those who wish to make a donation in Gary’s name may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society.
