Frances Helene Weaver

Passed away peacefully at Saint Luke’s Place, Cambridge, Ontario on Thursday April 3, 2014 at age 86. Loving mother of Ruth Thompson (Derek) and Carl Weaver (Chris). Dearly loved grandmother of Jill Zimniewicz (Kirt), Travers Thompson, Kaiden, Mikaila and Luke Weaver. Also survived by sister-in-law Florence Brown. Predeceased by her loving husband Frank Weaver, parents Ellen and Morley Brown and brother Maurice Brown. Helene was a retired teacher and an accomplished amateur photographer. Wrote extensive memoirs, essays and poetry. She lived most of her adult life in Owen Sound and was an active member of the former Division Street United Church, Owen Sound Camera Club, the Historical Society and a local writers’ group. She moved to Cambridge in 1999 to be closer to her family. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Helene’s life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11 am at Trillium United Church, 450 King Street East, Cambridge (519)-653-6601. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Trillium United Church, Robertson Education Fund or Autism Canada Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
