With bittersweet tears in our eyes, we announce Gerard Granville Green's homegoing in his 78th year. Gerry fought a long battle with Progressive Supernuclear Palsy. With his loving wife and trusty companion Lucky by his side, Gerry took his final breath on earth and his first breath in Heaven on January 16, 2021. We rejoice that he is no longer in pain and is completely restored in his heavenly body.
Gerry was a loving husband to Katherine of 28 years. Combined, they have six children. Jimmy, Brian, Beaux, Richard(Micheal), Robbie, Jennifer (Ken). He will always be remembered by his grandchildren, Sam (Nicole), Bo, Cassandra and Shaylea. He had three precious great-grandchildren, Donnie, Zariah, and Miah.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Rosland, Donny, Dick, Kate, Roger, Geraldine, Brennan, Randy, Gary, Lorne and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Gerry is predeceased by his parents and brother Carry.
Gerry was born in 1943 in Cornerbrook NFLD. He came to Ontario as a young man and built a life for himself. Gerry was a man that lived with determination in everything he did. He provided a great life for himself and his beautiful wife.
Gerry was a long time employee of Gerdau Ameristeel Cambridge, starting his career in 1978 in the Melt Shop mechanical maintenance team, responsible for the baghouse. He kept it in immaculate condition, and the area was considered the benchmark for baghouses not only with the Gerdau group but also worldwide.
Gerry's wise words we will leave with you, "You will never get this day again, so live it well."
