Gordon Walter McPherson

Beloved husband of Janet for 41 wonderful years. Proud father of Susan Marriott (Robert) and Robert McPherson (Anne), and doting ‘Papa’ to Lily Marriott and Oliver McPherson. He will be dearly missed by his sister Ruth Otterman, brother-in-law Jon Underhill (Deb), sister-in-law Alicia Underhill, 5 nieces and nephews as well as many friends and neighbours.

He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Lillian McPherson, his infant brother Robert, and his brothers-in-law Hugh Otterman and Jim Underhill. Gordon retired from his career with the Beer Store (25+ years) in K/W and Cambridge. He was a devoted volunteer with Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank-Preston Off-Site and St. John’s Anglican Church as a member of the Parish Council, Finance Committee, a Greeter and Counter.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life during the Memorial Service at St. John’s Anglican Church, 567 Queenston Road, Cambridge, on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with reception to follow at the church. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME, (519) 653-3251. No visitation scheduled. If desired, donations in his memory to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank-Preston Off-Site or St. John’s Church Roof Fund would be appreciated by his family.
