Grant Henry Strome

Passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on January 22, 2026 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Joan Strome for 66 beautiful years. Cherished father of Daniel, Christine, and Richard (Kim). Proud grandfather of Sarah, Jason, Anthony (Sarah), Andrew (Christina), Shawn (Merin), Christopher, Ricky, Jessica (Garin), and Rebeccah (Chris). Loved great-grandfather of Victoria, Mackenzie, Alexa, Skyleigh, Scotia, Chevi, Emma, Pheilim, Oliver, and Finnlay.

Grant started his career working as a mechanic in Preston for Bennett’s City Garage, and transitioned into being a church organ repair specialist. He ended his career as a Financial Advisor for Primerica where he enjoyed helping other people with their financial needs. As a young man, Grant enjoyed sailing his sailboats with his family, and was a talented musician on his steel guitar.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, particularly those in the Emergency Department, for their dedicated and loving care of Grant.

As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held during warmer weather. Barthel Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
