

She is now reunited with her beloved husband Bill (1981). Predeceased by her mother and father, Albin and Rose Krasno, and her sister Lillian Windisch (2016) (Charlie).
“Mum” is lovingly remembered by her children Pam Mather, Tom (Janet) Mather, and Nancy (Brad) Jones. “Nanny Helen” is lovingly remembered by grandchildren Cathy, Carolin (Shawn), David (Alice), Rebecca (John), Laura, Stephanie (Ned), and Michael (Lara), great-grandchildren Ashley, Stephanie, Courtney (Jeremy), Tyler, Keely, Sarah, Joe, Mary, Peter, Jane, Jordan, and Finn, and great-great-grandchild Sophie.
Helen was a loving matriarch, stylish entrepreneur, jazz wife, card shark and world traveler. A life-long Cambridge resident, she was the owner of ‘Helen Mather Fashions’ on Ainslie Street for 40 years, was the first woman elected to the Preston Separate School Board in 1960, and was a long-time member of the Galt Country Club. Foremost however always, was her family. She took great pride supporting all of her grandchildren’s sporting, music, artistic, life pursuits and accomplishments.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement’s Catholic Church, Cambridge on Friday, August 20, 2021 for family and invited guests.
In lieu of flowers as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
The family wish to thank the staff at Riverbend for their compassion and support shown to Helen for all the years that she resided there.
