Mr. Howard Henry Schmidt

Schmidt Howard Henry (Howie): of William Street, Cambridge, on Friday January 16, 2004 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in his 66th year. Beloved husband and very best friend of Debra (Johnson). Dear father of Teri Vincent and her husband Dave of Ayr, Mike and his wife Sue of Cambridge, Joe and his wife Sharon of Ayr and Tony and his wife Jennifer of Cambridge. Dear Papa of Ashley Vincent, Christina Vincent, Kimberley Schmidt, Matthew Schmidt, Taylor Schmidt and Jordyn Schmidt. Dear brother of Father Carl Schmidt of Toronto, Richard "Rich" Schmidt and his wife Mary of Harrow, Ontario, Marilyn Jones and her husband Graham of Cambridge and Gerard Schmidt of Woodstock. Also survived by his mother-in-law Kathleen Johnson and nephew Mike Jones and his wife Linda and family all of Cambridge. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Josephine Schmidt. Howie was born in Preston and had been a life long resident of the area. He was a Broker/Owner of his won Real Estate Company, being a member of both Cambridge/KW Real Estate Boards for over 41 years, a member of St. Clement's R.C. Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Preston Scout House Band. Howie will be missed by family and friends in both Cambridge and his second home Windance Farms in Mildmay. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd. Cambridge on Sunday from 7-9pm and on Monday January 19th 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Clement's R.C. Church, 745 Duke Street Cambridge on Tuesday January 20th at 11:00 am. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery, Cambridge. As expressions of sympathy donations to the St. Clement's R.C. Church Building Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 8:30 pm. Special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Medical Daycare and 5th floor palliative care unit of Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
