Al retired at the young age of 87. He was a military veteran of 25 years, a school bus driver and a civil service cleaner for a few years. His last job was as superintendent for 22 years at St Peter's Place in Preston, Ontario. He was loved by many, far and wide. He lived 92 years, a full life of blessings. He fell and broke his hip in June 2023, had a steel hip surgery and then was confined to a wheelchair. His independence was lost that day and started a spiral downward. The Family of Al wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences. May He rest in eternal peace.
As per Al's wishes there will be no public service at the Barthel Funeral Home, a public Funeral Mass in Miscouche, Prince Edward Island in early Spring 2024 will be held, at which time his ashes will be buried.
