Margaret "Peggy" Theresa Solcz

Margaret “Peggy” Solcz (nee Reid) passed away at Innisfree House after a relentless struggle with cancer on March 26, 2016 with her two sons by her side. Beloved wife of Vincent for 56 years and devoted Mother to Mark of Kitchener and Paul of Cambridge. Loving Baba to her beautiful Granddaughters Jennifer and Alicia. Also survived by her brother Bill Reid (Barbara) of Stoney Creek, and many nieces and nephews in the Grimsby, London and Windsor areas. Predeceased by her sister Ruby of N. Ireland (2011). Peggy was born in Belfast N. Ireland in 1928 and came to Canada in 1953. She was an instructor at Bruno’s School of Hair Design in Hamilton, Ontario and later worked as a weaver at Barrday in Cambridge. Peggy and Vince started the Rosary Makers in Cambridge and devoted many hours teaching grade school children how to make them. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario) from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Clement’s Church (745 Duke Street, Cambridge, Ontario) at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church basement. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Clement’s Church.
