Condolences to the Pluta family from Carol, Angeline and Serena.
Maria was an amazing woman with a quick witty sense of humour and loved to laugh. You always knew where you stood with her and that was one of the things that made her unique. I will miss her smile and laugh.

Aunt Maria was a special lady! She was always supportive of family and friends, kind and generous, especially with her sense of humour. I will always remember her as a smiling, laughing person and a terrific cook. Memories of regular family gatherings at Easter and Christmas, and occasional ones like those spent at Wasaga Beach will be treasured forever...
Deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to her surviving family and friends, particularly John and Andy. I love you both!

We have many memories of Maria. She was a wonderful neighbour. She often visited with us and we enjoyed hearing her stories about her life. She used to come to our door with a bowl and a spoon in her hand and ask if we might have any ice cream. Even if we were out of ice cream we would invite her in for a tea and a visit.
She was very outspoken which was refreshing... one time in church the priest had quite a lengthy homily and Maria voiced her opinion loudly that he had been speaking too long in a church where you could hear a pin drop. You always knew what Maria was thinking as she would tell you. She was a strong independent lady and rarely asked for help but would accept if you offered it to her. Sometimes we would see her waiting for the bus and offer her a ride to the Mall. She always generously expressed her thanks.
We believe that we honour the ones that we loved by keeping the stories of their life alive. We hope that all of your memories of Maria (As your Mom or Grandmother) help to heal your hearts.
Sincerely, Ann Marie & David Kieswetter

On behalf of my Father Czeslaw Pluta, my husband Ted and I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Maria Pluta. My Aunt was a woman of deep commitment and boundless love. She was a pillar and role model for her family through good times and bad. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was loved by anyone she met. She had many talents expressed through art, costume and floral design. Boy could she cook and made the best brownies and banana cake! I will miss her sweet smile and quick wit. May she rest in peace.

Our condolences from the Silver family. Sorry to hear about your mom John as I know she was a very sweet lady. Will never forget the kiss concert we went to with her. Your mom sat beside me and as the concert was about to start she pulled a bag of candy from her bag. Your mom offered me one yes just one. As the concert was starting I went to get another candy from your mom and she smacked my hand and said no no go buy your own. Such a sweet lady I just smiled and said ok. Stay strong John as your mom was just a beautiful soul.

Maria and I started working at Value Village at the very start. She always joked that items that customers wanted were on "back order". At our Christmas parties she would dance with Frank and put us all to shame. She always spoke her mind which I admired about her. She will be missed
Love Carol Johnston.
