Michael, in his 90th year, was born in Montreal, Quebec, and had been a resident of Cambridge since 1971. He was predeceased by his parents Frances and Paul Garnier, and his cherished wife and soulmate Lorraine (2013) and is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Pierre and Gertrude Garnier of Longueuil, Quebec. Michael's many nieces and nephews and extended family will remember him with great affection.
Michael also leaves his two children, Kenneth Garnier of Cambridge and Cathy Garnier (Rhonda) of Paris. Kenneth and Cathy will forever remember their father's extraordinary patience, kindness and gentle nature.
Michael requested that no visitation or service be held, but his family would appreciate donations in his name to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, or to Lisaard House Hospice. Michael's family is grateful to Lisaard House for the outstanding care they provided to both Michael and the family during his short stay. Their kindness will always be remembered.
