Bill will be deeply missed by his life’s soulmate, Patricia “Patti” Louise Goertzen (nee Coutts). He is survived by his siblings, Susan, Douglas (Doug), Ted, Shirley, and Linda, and will forever remain in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents, David and Doris, and his sister Carol, Bill is now reunited with them in peace.
Bill enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, among them were 10-pin bowling and classic cars. His pride and joy was his 1983 Monte Carlo. Bill's tenacious nature, along with his love of gardening, created a gleaming jewel of their Garden Street home for nearly 40 years. He also enjoyed fishing from time to time and cherished time spent with family at the cottage in Haliburton.
Cremation has taken place, and as per Bill’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society - Cancer Research, or Lisaard & Innisfree Hospice would be greatly appreciated and may be shared through Barthel Funeral Home at barthelfuneralhome.com
A beautiful life came to an end.
He died as he lived,
Everyone’s friend.
