Passed away on June 21st, 2017 at the age of 43, Ms. Anna Maria Martin (Bunky) of Listuguj First Nation, daughter of Norma Jean and Douglas Patrick Martin (deceased). Born in Campbellton, NB on December 23rd, 1973.
In her teenage years, Bunks would often be found babysitting many of her young cousins and because of this, it led her to undertake her post secondary education in Early Childhood Development. She persevered through her medical issues and completed her education with honours.
Prior to her illness, she worked for the Mawo'tijug Mijjuaji'g (Child Care Centre) and was a catechism teacher at St. Ann's Church for over seven years. She had a passion for educating young learners and young parents, loved going to the movies with her beloved Clinton and mom would often catch her singing aloud in her bedroom to her many favourite rock bands, AC/DC, Bon Jovi and Metallica; just to name a few! She had a love for wrestling and shared this enthusiasm with her nephews.
She is survived by her mother Norma Jean, two sisters Natasha (Brandon) and Chantal (Chris), her boyfriend Clinton Sorbey and three nephews Brayden, Bryce and Christopher; as well as many aunties, uncles and cousins. She loved her god-children Alexis and Dwight.
Funeral services will be held at the St. Ann's Church in Listuguj, QC on Monday, June 26th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. (NB Time). Visitation at the Maher's funeral home Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday at St. Ann's Church at 12:00 p.m. until time of funeral.
