Aurele Savoie

Aurele was born on Sunday, September 07, 1930 in Eel River Crossing to the late Paul Savoie and the late Exilia Roy.

He was a mechanic at the Hilcrest garage which he owned from 1959 until 1969. After that, apart from some time driving taxi, he was a longshoreman at the mill until 1994. Once he retired, you could always find him at the Hilcrest garage hearing the new gossip, helping out anyone who even mentioned having a project to do, or spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son Kevin, his daughter in law Christiane, his granddaughter Gena and his sisters in law, brothers in law, many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Helena Savoie, his sisters Léa, Léona and Marie-Jeanne and his brothers Gérard, Victorin, and Joseph.

A Funeral Mass for Aurele will be held at the St. Trinity Church, Eel River Crossing on Tuesday, February 03 at 11:00 am

M. Aurele Savoie de Dalhousie est décédé, à l’Hôpital régional de Campbellton le jeudi 22 janvier 2026, à l’âge de 95 ans. Il était l’époux de feu Helena (née Main) Savoie.

Aurèle est né le dimanche 7 septembre 1930 à Eel River Crossing, fils de feu Paul Savoie et de feu Exilia Roy.

Il était mécanicien au garage Hilcrest qu’il appartenait de 1959 à 1969. Par la suite, à part d’avoir conduit un taxi, il était « longshoreman » au moulin jusqu’en 1994. Une fois retiré, on pouvait toujours le retrouver au garage Hilcrest pour entendre les nouvelles du coin, en train d’aider n’importe qui qui mentionnait avoir un projet à faire, ou a passer du temps avec sa famille.

Il laisse dans le deuil son fils, Kevin, sa belle-fille Christiane, sa petite-fille Gena ainsi que ses belles-sœurs, beaux-frères, plusieurs neveux, nièces et amis. Outre ses parents, il a été précédé par sa femme Helena Savoie, ses sœurs Léa, Léona et Marie-Jeanne, ainsi que ses frères, Gérard, Victorin et Joseph.

Une messe funéraire pour Aurele sera célébrée en l’église Ste-Trinite d’Eel River Crossing le mardi 3 février à 11 h.
